Frequently asked questions

What is a "Hand Off"?

Hand Off lets you record a short voice clip of something you want to learn or remember. Bhasha can turn that recording into a lesson — a phrase with its meaning and usage — so a real moment of speech becomes something you can practice.

Do I need an account?

No. The core learning experience works fully without signing in. You only need to sign in (with Apple) for cloud features — the Community library and the cloud AI helper.

Is my voice private?

Yes. Your recordings stay on your device and in your own private iCloud. When you turn a recording into a lesson, the audio is sent briefly and securely to a transcription partner, then discarded. It is never stored on our servers, never used to train AI, and never shared or included in the Community.

How do I cancel Bhasha Pro?

Bhasha Pro is billed through Apple, so you manage it in iOS Settings. Open Settings > your Apple ID (your name at the top) > Subscriptions, tap Bhasha, and choose Cancel.

How do I delete my data?

Open the app, go to Profile, and tap "Delete account & all data." This removes your server account, your Community contributions, and the copy of your data in your iCloud. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.

Why is text shown in English letters first?

Bhasha always leads with English and transliteration (Bangla written in English letters) so you can read and say a phrase right away. The Bangla script is shown alongside as a secondary reference, so you can grow into it at your own pace.
